joaquin phoenix mockumentary includes david letterman interview

A few months ago, Casey Affleck announced that he will release a documentary he made on his brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix's experience within a year since he claimed he is resigning from acting to explore a career in hip-hop.

According to the buzz log:

There is no denying that the ex-actor has been acting — and looking — odd. The results of his off-putting behavior — his appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman" comes to mind — are documented in the Casey Affleck-directed picture, "I'm Still Here: The lost year of Joaquin Phoenix."
Hollywood.com thinks the joke is on us: While the website acknowledges that perhaps Phoenix really did have a meltdown, the movie seems to be a "Borat"-style stunt. A source who worked with Phoneix told Entertainment Weekly that the actor confided in him, "It's a put-on. I'm going to pretend to have a meltdown and change careers, and Casey is going to film it."
