ipod nano a fire hazard according Japan Trade Ministry

The Japan Trade Ministry has deemed the Ipod Nano as a fire hazard and had asked Apple to submit a solution to resolve the issue by August 4, 2010. This comes after the Ministry received several complaints since 2005 of incidences where the ipod nano burst into flames.

According to The Epoch Times:

Six reports regarding incidents of the 2005 model Nano catching on fire while charging have been filed with the ministry since 2008, Hiroshi Miyashita, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry told Bloomberg.

Since 2005, 21 additional cases involving incidents of the device overheating and emitting smoke have also been reported, Miyashita said.
