Just when they thought they were already out, the US team claims a place at the last 16 by winning over Algeria 1-0.

According to the Associated Press via Fox Sports:

Landon Donovan scored in injury time as the United States advanced to the round of 16 at the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Algeria.

England joined the United States in the next round from Group C with a 1-0 win over Slovenia.

The Americans missed two earlier chances Wednesday.
